Hot Stuffed Buns

Hot stuffed buns reminds me of the English nursery rhyme “Hot cross buns”

Hot stuffed buns! Hot stuffed buns!
One a penny two a penny – Hot stuffed buns
If you have no daughters, give them to your sons
One a penny two a penny – Hot stuffed buns!

Our adorable sons love them!!!!

Erachi Pathiri – Pan Fried

Erachi pathiri with a different style than the traditional one. The authentic recipe includes frying puris stuffed with spiced meat preferably in circular shapes, dipping the fried puris in light sweet egg mixture and then shallow frying the egg coated fried puris. I had to alter the tradition to fit my style to make it more healthier so that I could munch on few more guilt free pathiris. My recipe includes rice pathiris with meat filling folded and then pan fried. A three step procedure cut short to one step process similar to panfried Meen Pathiri.Cooking Erachi PathiriĀ  made easy and tasty. Enjoy!

Erachi Pathil/ Erachi Pathiri/ Meat Envelopes

There are different versions of Erachi pathiri – steamed, pan fried or deep fried. I have the recipe for the fried variety. This Malabar delicacy most often shows up on our dining tables during the month of Ramdhan.

Kerala Beef Fry

Kerala Beef Fry is one of the traditional recipes that can be cooked without much effort. The beef is cooked and roasted in coconut oil with the aromatic flavours of Indian spices, curry leaves and roasted coconut. This is still the “most wanted delicacy” from Kerala for those Malayalis staying abroad. The beef that’s available in Kerala has more protein and less fat unlike the beefed up beef of North America.
