Erachi Pathil/ Erachi Pathiri/ Meat Envelopes
There are different versions of Erachi pathiri – steamed, pan fried or deep fried. I have the recipe for the fried variety. This Malabar delicacy most often shows up on our dining tables during the month of Ramdhan.
Preparation time 15 minutes
Cooking time 2 to 3 minutes
Yields 15 to 18
All purpose flour – 2 cups
Salt – 1 tsp
1.Combine all the ingredients for pathiri until you get a smooth dough.
2.Make small balls out of the dough.Roll the dough into small circles.
3.In the centre of each circle put two teaspoons of filling mixture.
4.Fold all the sides to make an envelope or rectangular shape.
5.Deep fry both sides till golden brown.
